Stink Eye

Tournament Championship

Tournament Finalist

6842Y was founded in 2016, during the VEX Starstruck season. Stink Eye is a team made up of all 7th graders including Matthew Bender, Matthew Gomez, and Yash Dandimuti. They entered the season with zero knowledge of engineering, but they spent time working with our more experienced teams, taking every opportunity to learn from others. With this help, they managed to engineer a robot that could compete against high school robots. At the Zionsville Starstruck Competition, they managed a tough schedule and were picked by the 2nd seeded alliance. They went on to win in a 3rd match, qualifying them for the 2017 Indiana VEX State Championships.

At the 2017 CREATE Iowa U.S. Open National Championships, Stink Eye went 6-4, finishing in 31st out of 93 teams. They were selected on the second pick by team PigPen (6842Z), and won 6 elimination matches before losing the finals in a tight game 3. They were awarded the Tournament Finalist award.

Team Stink Eye is excited about the 2017-2018 Season and can't wait to get started.
